How far down do you need to cut a rabbit's nails?

i got a rabbit and his nails are rally long? How far down do you need to cut a rabbit's nails?
I always clip my rabbit's nails to about 1 mm above the pink cuticle. Be careful to not actually get into the pink because then it hurts them. How far down do you need to cut a rabbit's nails?
When you look at your rabbits nails, the colors will be white, brown, or black at the top, and pink or red at the bottom. You want to make sure you stay far away from the pink or red part. Many people cut the pink part on accident. It causes severe bleeding, and may be fatal to your new little friend. Make sure you have the right clippers:

Good Luck!!!
i have rabbits too, and where the pink area is on a rabbits nails, you should cut the nail until your a little aways from the pink, but don't cut right to it or on it because the rabbit will bleed.
If his nails are white you will be able to see the quick or blood vein in the nail. Do not cut below the top of the quick. Cut just above it.

If you do cut the quick and it bleeds do not panic. Take a little flour and put it in the palm of your hand. Place the bleeding nail in the middle of the flour and hold it on the nail. This will help the blood clot and stop the bleeding.
usually they have two colors on their nails. black, or white and then pink. You can cut the nails up to the pink part but no further. if you cut more than that, you could hurt the rabbit and make it bleed.
You cut a rabbits nails to the pink cuticle. Otherwise if you cut it too far down, you hurt them and it bleeds alot.

Good Luck!!
