Baby's nail split too far down while trimming.?

I was trimming my 2 month old's nails by nicking the corners and peeling them. One of the nails peeled back way way too far down. It looks pretty deep and I'm scared to pull it the rest of the way off. Help!!!Baby's nail split too far down while trimming.?
Use a pair of baby nail clippers or scissors and cut the split nail down a bit more. Don't pull the rest off though as it will make your baby's finger bleed. Just file the rest of the nail down with a emery board to smooth it and stop it from catching on clothing, bedding and toys.Baby's nail split too far down while trimming.?
This happens more times than people want to admit. Take some baby clippers or regular fingernail clippers and clip off the part of the nail that you have already pulled back. Don't pull the rest of the nail as it will just cause bleeding. After you have clipped what you can, then use a file to smooth the edges and then put some type of protective cream on the finger. You can wait til baby is asleep to do all of this to make it easier on you and baby. If doing while baby is sleeping, then I'd put some neopsorin on the finger as it will rub off by morning therefore lessening the risk of baby ingesting some of it. Good luck!
You can use nail polish to ';glue'; it back together. Or crazy glue. Then trim a bit of the excess off.
