The nail on my big toe has split down the middle?

when it grows it grows apart and i can cut it low enough to get past the split,any ideas as it gets caught on socksThe nail on my big toe has split down the middle?
does it have bumps and gradients on it as well, if yes then your shoes are too small.





if not then it s probably because the vertical split in the nail plate is caused by scar tissue that developed on the nail bed due to the trauma to the toenail. Since the matrix was involved, the damage begins where the nail plate cells are born as the scar tissue begins in that area.





it should grow back as long as you look after it with cream and vitamins like calcium.

what you do to heal it is put some super glue down the split to hold it in place until you can get to a manicurist

cut across the tip of the nail square on, use some nail varnish on the tip of the split to stop it catching until the split has grown out.
Use a bandage to hold it together and keep it from hooking in your socks.
