How can i thin down my nail polish?

I have a bottle of nail polish that got all thick and gloppy. Is there any way to thin it down so i don't have to buy another bottle? How can i thin down my nail polish?
Acetone or paint thinner will not work very well.

Water?!?... LOL!

You need to use laquer thinner -- available in the paint department of most home improvement stores, or the paint and body aisle of most auto parts stores.

.How can i thin down my nail polish?
ok no way should you use water!!! oh my! and i really dont recommend polish remover or acetone.....yes it will fix it temp..but it will get lumpy and thick again and you also run the risk of ruining the polish chemistry which can then turn around and effect the color and consistency. most professional brands have their own polish thinner that you can purchse and you will only about 5 drops or so. put it in and then roll it around a bit in your palms. let it sit for about 3 min..if not better then repeat again. i have had some of my opi colors for over 15 yrs and they are pretty much brand new shape. so try to find the brands polish thinner and go from there....if you have any ?s or if you need help finding it please email me and i will try to help you out.
There's this thinning liquid that you can put a few drops and shake and it comes out all liquidy. I've used it before but I'm not sure how you could purchase it. Maybe you can go get your nails done at a salon and ask for some to put in the polish.
nail polish remover just add a little bit and shake it. i have also found that bb's for bb guns work well in nail polish bottles. depending on the bottle size put 1-3 bb's in the bottle and shake it up everyonce in a while it works.
I just put a little bit (do a little bit at a time because you don't want it to be too thin) of nail polish remover (seen it done in nail salons, and it works!) inside the bottle and shake it up really good.
put the tiniest little bit of nail polish remover in it.

but the quality won't be the same no matter what you do to it.
add acetone...you can get it at Target or Walmart (professional polish remover) it's what the salons use
You can buy a thinner at beauty product store. I have one.
put a little nail polish remover it in and shake it up...u should be all set..just a lil tho at a time until it gets to where u want it to be!!
add in a few drops of nails polish remover and shake it up,if its still goopy gradually add a little more remover un til its smooth..this always works for me!!
dont shake it because that makes it have air bubbles and then when u put in on ur finger it will not b smooth just roll it in your hands
i read in a magazine that if u put it in the frige for bout 10 minutes itll get all smooth and thin
add a few drops of nail polish remover and shake very well. it works way better than water!
put a few drops of nail polish remover in it...the girl at the salon i go to always does this...shake well tho
theres paint thinner or try rubbing alcohol %26amp;%26amp; shake it up
put it in the refridgerator
put nail polish remover in it. just a lil bit.
put a few drops of water in it and shake!!! more if needed
