Would you please help me nail down if I'm autistic or not?

Okay, so I've been having this habit for since I was little. I'd grab a pen or something thin and smooth, and with that I'll walk around the house, submerged in my own world of imaginations.

I'd imagine up cartoonish adventures (anime), sports adventures, fictional stories etc. All of it happens entirely in my head. I can picture out characters, environments, things etc. smoothly all in my head, as though I'm actually watching a movie that I'm making up as I go along. I have a great imagination.

Today, with the help of a great online friend, I'm starting to believe this has something to do with autism.

I also have a habit of re-arranging stuffs, but this is not compulsive and as my mom has the same habit, I think I inherited it.

So, what do you think? Am I autistic? Which classification does my symptom fall under?Would you please help me nail down if I'm autistic or not?
People aren't normally 100% or 0% autistic. You don't seem to be very autistic to me at all: you know how to relate to people and tell them your story in a way that they can understand and you get great pleasure out of your imagination, then again, partly because you're projecting your fantasies into shapes that other people can understand.

This is opposed to a diagnostic of autism.

I've just thought too : you're not afraid to delve into other imaginary worlds and invent them instead of sticking to the one safe-as-possible world.

Good luck with your writing, maybe one day we'll read your books.Would you please help me nail down if I'm autistic or not?
A lot to do with autism is how you interact with other people, and so if you feel as if you are able to express yourself quite well, then its more likely to just be a good imagination and perhaps even boredom! Apparantly, many of us have slight autistic attributes, its just that they re so minor they re not that important to worry about.
Hi, only specialists can diagnose autism. Your 17, if you were autistic you would have had serious problems years ago. Your ';about me'; doesn't look like you have this problem. Even medical examination isn't 100%. You sound imaginative. Do any of your ancestors have spiritual problems or connections with strange spirits? If so these can be renounced in Jesus name maybe with the help of other real followers of Jesus. nev
Nobody can diagnose you just by a few anecdotes that you jot down online.

A diagnosis of Autism is arrived at by professionals assessing a person over a period of time, if you want to be assessed for Autism I suggest speaking to your parents %26amp; ask them to find out how this can be arranged.
You sound too eloquent and communicative to be autistic, but I'm no expert. What you describe is a vivid imagination mixed with a bit of organised fidgeting activity. So, don't look for a cure, use it! You may have the makings of a best selling author!
Chances are that you do not have Autism or Asperger's Syndrome. You could have mild Obsessive-Compulsion Disorder (OCD).
There red flag that it might be some type of mild autism but there is not near enough infornmation for us to know
Walking around holding something thin and smooth sounds sensory based. You can look up sensory integration. Lots of people attach to a specific feel. Look at how many kids have one blanket with a special tag or material they like to rub continuously. That doesn't make the children autistic. It's normal.

Your imagination sounds like you have great visual vivid thoughts. Many people are auditory thinkers and don't understand a visual thinker, but that isn't an autism symptom.

Autism is a spectrum disorder and everyone is somewhere on the spectrum, if your symptoms aren't significantly impacting your life then don't borrow problems. I think being able to talk to a friend about potentially being autistic involves lots of communication skills which would lean away from an autism diagnosis.

Another piece you didn't indicate was an extreme resistance or complete inability to deal with change and/or an inability to calm yourself. From your description you've found effective methods to keep busy and calm.
