if you soak a cotton ball with nail polish remover and set it alight, you can hold it. im doing this for a chemistry demo, but i dont know why this works! my demo's tomorrow, so PLEASE HELP!!Why can I hold a burning cotton ball, soaked in watered down acetone (nail polish remover)?
its burning the alcohol... so there is a buffer between you and your skin and its just burning off the alcohol not touching you...
same if you spray perfume on something and set it on fire there will be no burn marks on the object. just burning the alcohol off
